About Karl

Songs, roots, & souls

After 40 years of writing, editing and recovering from hand injuries, he began to relearn his guitar, sharpen up his songwriting and form a series of  cosmic country folk-rock bands, notably Western Weeds and Lazy K Rancheros.

A former editor of The Rocket and Santa Cruz Good Times, Karl followed blues and rock bands up and down the West Coast. After surviving the 1989 earthquake, he began his 25-year career at The Seattle Times.

Now he’s been writing, singing and strumming nonstop for a decade and ready for house concerts, lawn parties, festivals, opening slots, tributes, benefits … anywhere a listenable singing-songwriter is needed!
